We Don't Put Out

Speaking of rock ‘n’ roll films, the Lou Adler directed cult classic Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains will be available legally on September 16th from Rhino Home Video. Long relegated to shady bootleggers and the occasional art house screening, the 1981 film stars Diane Lane as an ambitious teenage girl who forms a punk rock band to escape her dead end life in a small Pennsylvania town. The cast includes Laura Dern, Christine Lahti, Steve Jones & Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols, Paul Simonon of the Clash, Ray Winstone, Fee Waybill, Debbie Rochon, E.G. Daily, Brent Spiner and Black Randy. As if that’s not a good enough indie pedigree, “Stains”was written by Oscar winners Jonathan Demme and Nancy Dowd. Shelved by the studio after a poor test screening, the film gained popularity after appearing on L.A.’s Z Channel and the TBS show Night Flight in the mid '80s.
